Camelot Bowl History
Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by our website. We here at Camelot Bowl have always taken great pride in providing our customers with the best possible bowling experience. The owners and employees of this company work very hard on a daily basis to make this bowling center a family friendly place where people of all ages can come and enjoy the sport of bowling.
The Hartman family has owned operated Camelot Bowl for 100 years. Six generations of Hartmans have worked and managed our family oriented center.
The Hartmans of Collinsville, Illinois in 2012 are celebrating 100 years in the business. It all started when Frank Hartman opened Hartman Recreation, a two-lane establishment in the old Fisher Plumbing Building. Frank was followed by son Charles, grandson Arthur, great grandson Artie and great-great grandsons Brent and Robb. For those counting at home, that's five generations of bowling proprietors.
Frank operated Hartman Recreation until the mid-1920s when he and son Charles moved the business to the famed downtown Fairmont Hotel where they opened the 10-lane Fairmont Bowl. Camelot Bowl was later built in 1968.
